Xiaomi Mi 5:The Stylish Low Budget Smartphone

While waiting for my favorite latte at the coffee shop today, i overheard two guys saying things that were totally absurd. Emphatically insisting that a certain China phone(which i later learnt was called Xiaomi) is better than Samsung Galaxy S7.

At first i totally disagreed with their verdict.I sneered at them(from behind the business magazine i was pretending to be reading). I regarded their resolution as a clever cover up for their low budget phone. But as my principle of investigating matters thoroughly before i pass my verdict, i decided to do more investigation into this smartphone.

I must confess this investigation turned out contrary to my guiding hypothesis( it was a total smack down opposite). Those guys were right! I have never seen such amazing features put together so seamlessly at such a price. This is five star experience Xiaomi is putting forth at a lower price when compared to Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG’s latest android versions. It has better hardware, software, and its more beautiful.

The latest Xiaomi MI5 is so cool  that industry titans have endorsed it as the best Chinese android smartphone so far, making Xiaomi a worthy opponent of the rulers of the Android world-Samsung and LG.
The Xiaomi MI5 is a perfect blend of the latest gadget specs and Android Software. It reaches most of the milestones for a first-rate mobile device: Large Battery, lovely display, fast fingerprint sensor etc. But unlike previous models this one cost way below $400. It comes in Black, White, Gold, Ceramic colors.

....Boy has Xiaomi MI5 given the popular saying ‘nothing good comes cheap’ a total makeover.

Key Features:
1. Its an Android Operating system(version6, marshmallow), With a CPU of Dual-core 1.8 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.36 GHz Kryo (Standard edition), and Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo (for other editions).

2. It has no memory card slot. Its internal memory is 128 GB, 4 GB RAM (Pro edition), and 32/64 GB, 3 GB RAM(other editions).

3. It has a captivating 5.15 inch display. It keeps the rear camera flush with the back, unlike the many protruding camera lenses we see in the iPhone and Galaxy S6.
Somehow, Xiaomi fit it inside the 7.15 mm-thick casing. Another design feature is the excellent screen-to-body ratio on the phone’s front. Non-display surfaces are minimal and limited to the upper and lower edges.

4. The designers did a great job with the placements(putting all the buttons in the right places). The home button(with built-in fingerprint sensor) is put next to capacitive touch controls at the bottom, and its volume rocker and power button within easy reach of the right thumb making it easy to use with a single hand.

5. It has a bigger screen and a higher (1080p) resolution than Apple’s iPhone 6S.

6. It is an Apple iPhone 6s look-alike.

7. It boasts of a very advanced snapdragon chip processor integration. This gives you good signal in very low connectivity environment(e.g underground malls). Continuing on its great performance streak, this processor makes the Mi 5 capable of playing any game or taking on any processing task without hassle. Making Xiaomi highly responsive and fast.

8. It is a dual sim phone, helping you save money by combining two different plans or service providers, instead of carrying two phones.

9. It makes you sound better, giving its voice call feature a thumbs up in high quality.
Very good camera performance, and it happens to have one of the better selfie cameras on the market right now.
Strong battery life(enduring up to 92 hours), and fast battery charging(83% in 30 min).

 Improvements:

Xiaomi’s first software release had the same number of issues as the gadget it was given on. One wasn’t even able to scroll through the options on the setup screen.

With these new improvements made in the latest Mi5 Xiaomi is surely fast moving, Because a week after Mobile World Congress, a new handset totally free of the bugs(that initially plagued its previous version was released).

Hugo Barra made the point, while introducing the Mi 5, that no other company issues as many software updates as Xiaomi does with MIUI, calling it "a living OS." Unlike pure hardware vendors, who concludes their relationship at point of sale, Xiaomi has an immediate business enthusiasm for keeping its clients glad long after the gadget deal has been sealed.

The 3,000mAh battery inside is claimed by the company to have the highest density in any consumer device yet, and it’s married to a new display back-light innovation that makes the Mi 5's screen as much as 17 percent more productive than past versions.

But here comes the snag, it is only available in China….Ouch!
